VRFB Experimental Rig

VRFB stands for Vanadium Redox Flow Battery. These batteries are emerging technology especially in case of grid scale energy storage. The key advantage over other battery technologies (for instance, Lithium batteries), is practically infinite charge cycles. These batteries have a practical life-span of more than 50 years, and are resistant to temperature, humidity and other natural factors. These properties make it a very solid candidate for large scale energy storage, such as for entire grids, or for a large neighbourhood.

Background

todo: Explain the electrochemistry. A diagram. And application... grid storage container.

Why create a desktop experimental rig?

todo: start with the motivation. Then transition to what is the minimum stuff required to run the experiment.
